HCP VS CHSP

So what’s the difference?

Home Care Package (HCP)

This funding helps cover the cost of long-term In Home care plans, supporting you staying at home for longer. Home Care Packages provide flexibility to manage your funding allocation so that you only access the services you need when you need them.

PACKAGE TYPES

Which is right for me?

General Information

A Home Care Package is a type of government funding to help you remain living at home for longer. It is provided by the Australian Government to help people aged 65 years and over to obtain the in-home care and supports they need to stay living safely and independently in their own home for as long as possible.

Home Care Packages are delivered with a consumer directed care approach. This means you are given a budget (funding) to help cover the cost of your coordinated care plan and you decide how it is allocated. This approach gives you more choice and flexibility about the types of services and supports you need and want.

Who Is Not Eligible?

Packages are not available to visitors to Australia or people requiring temporary or short term care.

What is the Cost?

There are two types of fees that you can expect to pay: A basic daily fee, and an income tested care fee. The funding you receive to cover the costs of your home care will vary depending on the level of your Home Care Package. Click below to view our current schedule of fees for home care.
