Kiama Council is moving through the process to reclassify the land on which Blue Haven Bonaira sits from community land to operational land to ensure it is being operated in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993.
The NSW Government has appointed Council as the designated Local Plan Making Authority to manage the planning process.
Council has conducted a public exhibition period for the planning proposal to reclassify the land (Lot 2 DP 1215276, 14A Bonaira Street, Kiama – which comprises the Blue Haven Bonaira residential aged care facility, Independent Living Units, Home Care and other Blue Haven community services).
A public hearing will now be held on 22 May 2023 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Council Chambers, to give our community an opportunity to expand on their written submissions and discuss issues in a public forum.
The hearing will be chaired by an independent facilitator, engaged by Council.
The facilitator will then prepare a Public Hearing Report.
The Public Hearing Report, including submissions from the public exhibition period, and a recommendation will then go to Council for consideration.
