Blue Haven Community Client Beryl Celebrates her 101th Birthday

Happy 101 Beryl!

Kiama LGA resident Beryl Sherwood celebrated her 101th birthday this week with a visit from Kiama Council CEO Jane Stroud as part of her home care services.

Ms Sherwood still lives at home in Gerringong and has been receiving transport assistance and domestic support as well as attending group-based activities with Blue Haven since 2008.

Kiama Council’s Blue Haven provides community care services to more than 700 people in Kiama and beyond.

“I enjoyed wishing Beryl happy birthday in person as part of her home care service today,” said Ms Stroud.

“Blue Haven’s home care assistance is just one of many excellent aged care services provided by Kiama Council.”

Blue Haven has been part of Kiama Council and the Kiama community for over 40 years. Our Council is one of the largest local-government providers of aged care services in Australia.

As well as providing home care, Blue Haven runs the 135-bed Bonaira residential aged care facility and hosts 250 independent living units over two sites in Kiama.
