Illawarra Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centre

After over twenty-three years of operation the Illawarra Commonwealth Respite & Carelink Centre has closed its doors for the last time on the 31st of May 2020. The Respite and Carelink Centre offered information, carer support and short term and emergency respite to all Carers in the Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and Shoalhaven LGA’s.

The Department of Social Services has implemented a new service for carers called Carer Gateway. There was a lovely morning tea provided by Marianna Parish (Manager Community Programs) and Clare Rogers (Director of Blue Haven) to farewell the wonderful staff some of which had worked 10 – 20 years’ service there.
