Blue Haven COVID-19 Update: 21 December 2022

Blue Haven’s Aged Care Facility at Bonaira currently has four residents who have tested positive to COVID-19.

One Blue Haven staff member is also COVID positive and is currently in isolation at home.

These residents have been provided with antivirals and we are taking every precaution necessary to reduce transmission.

These measures include COVID-19 positive residents:

• isolating in their rooms for seven days or until symptom free
• wearing a mask for an additional ten days in communal areas
• taking a follow up PCR test

Visitors are welcome, but if you’re visiting a COVID-19 positive resident, please seek advice from staff beforehand about correct infection control practices.

Visitors must also be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and take a temperature, symptom, and rapid antigen test on arrival.

We strongly encourage visitors to get a booster vaccine if they are eligible for one.

Like other aged care providers, COVID-19 outbreaks can and do occur despite the testing and protective measures at each of the services for staff, visitors, and residents.

Vaccination and antivirals with the protective measures have enabled outbreaks to be better controlled in the past 6-9 months.
